Authorities are currently unsure why the train halted at that location and how a door opened, allowing the man to exit.

The incident began at around 3:45 p.m., as an Orange Line train was stopped approaching Roxbury Crossing, according to the transit agency.

Officials said they are investigating what caused the door to open but have ruled out an issue with the train itself or a mechanical problem.
