Josephine must have been hungry as she was trying to eat green paw paws and although bats adore ripe paw paw, they have to be pretty desperate to attempt green fruit. Little Toni found herself trapped on barbed wire sometime early this morning and although badly injured, she had to endure not only the pain and fear of entrapment but a merciless attack by birds. If not for the compassion of Caltex staff and Tony the truck driver, Toni the Grey-headed flying-fox would have died a protracted and horrific death caught on the wire. Bat Conservation
